NYALL

Nyall questioned his sanity, but it didn’t stop him from lowering his head and devouring Aaron’s lips. Aaron groaned and pressed him back against the door of the fridge, deepening the kiss as he did.

The heat between them burned brighter than it had during their kiss under the mistletoe, and Nyall pulled back with a gasp. Aaron opened his eyes, worry there for a split second until Nyall pushed his fingers into Aaron’s hair and held on. “Let’s go upstairs.”

Aaron’s knees wobbled and Nyall had to hold on or be dropped. Aaron laughed and caught his balance. “Holy snowballs, I wasn’t expecting you to say that.”

Nyall grinned and slid his legs from around Aaron’s hips. “Now that was a good one.”

“I’ll show you a…nope, never mind. You show me upstairs instead.”

Nyall’s heart beat faster as he took Aaron’s hand and led him to the staircase at the other end of the room. He’d redesigned the space years before, knowing he wanted the entire second floor as his baking and design space.

He had a room at the Inn, along with his cousins, but he also had his own space where he tended to spend a lot of his time. As he led Aaron to the third floor, the open loft living space whose centerpiece was Nyall’s huge four-poster bed, Nyall bit his lip and hoped his heart wasn’t leading him down a path he couldn’t come back from.

“Beautiful,” Aaron said once they reached the top of the stairs.

“I haven’t had a chance to decorate yet,” Nyall confessed, pointing to the bare tree standing in the corner near the fireplace.

“There’s plenty of time for that later.” Aaron turned and pulled Nyall into his body, then began walking backward toward the bed. “You sure about this?”

His low, husky tone sent a shiver of desire through Nyall. “Positive.”

Aaron sat down on the bed and pulled Nyall between his legs. “Only two hours, huh? That’s not a lot of time.”

“Really? Cause I’m wondering if I’ll last two minutes at this rate. I’ve been thinking about nothing but you for days,” Nyall confessed. “How you felt against me, how connected we are, and how much I wanted to bring you up here the other night.”

“Why didn’t you?” The flicker of hurt appeared in Aaron’s eyes again, this time accompanied by the same confusion Nyall felt about the sudden and intense depth of their connection.

Nyall leaned in close and ran his fingers through Aaron’s hair. “I was afraid I’d never let you go.”

His words were the barest whisper, but Aaron shuddered at hearing them. “I don’t even believe in love at first sight.”

“You should.” Nyall leaned down and nipped at Aaron’s lips, then pushed him down onto the mattress.

Nyall took control, finally giving in to the urges he’d been fighting against since the first night when Aaron had knocked him over. Their connection may not make any sense, but Nyall couldn’t deny how deep it went for both of them.

He reached for the buttons on Aaron’s shirt and began slowly slipping them free.
